Field Work
Many of the Hunter-Clyde Watershed Group's aims are accomplished through field work. Every year, funding is sought from a number of sources. We generally employ a supervisor for ten weeks and a number of workers for eight weeks. Trees are planted, brush-mats built and debris cleared from streams. The supervisor keeps an on-line log of the progress of the work crew and these logs can be found below.
2009 - Brian Gauthier is our supervisor for this summer. See the supervisor's reports.
2008 - Samantha Doucette supervised a work-crew of three, and we retained Michael Wilcock as part-time Watershed Technician. See the supervisor's reports. We expanded our range of activities and had a great summer, see for yourself in the Summer 2008 report.
Fall/Winter 2007 - Michael Willcock was employed from January to March. Conducting public consultations, establishing a water quality baseline and building a Stewardship Plan were his main tasks. The consultation documents can be found at the bottom of this page and the Stewardship Plan can be seen here. It is a large document and will take a minute to open with a high-speed connection, don't try it with dial up!
2007 - This summer there are two university students Michel Daoust and Kirsten MacLean. Michel is leading the field work crew in tree planting for buffer zones and silt traps. Kirsten is leading the research and creation of a draft for a long-term watershed management plan. Water testing is continuing this year by Mark. Click for more information.
2006 - Sarah Mattinson led the group in this year in watershed enhancement projects. Click for more information.
2005 - Michel Daoust led the group in this year in watershed enhancement projects. Click for more information.
2001 - An extensive report was produced for our second year of operation. Click to see the report.
2000 - Erin Bentley was our first supervisor and established the work plan that would be followed in future years. Click to see her report.
